The Arizona Branch of the International Dyslexia Association (IDA Arizona) is seeking passionate and dedicated individuals to join our Board of Directors for the 2026–2028 term.

Our Board brings IDA Arizona’s mission to life by meeting the needs of families, educators, and professionals who support struggling readers. We’re committed to sharing research-based knowledge about assessment, diagnosis, and evidence-based interventions. Together, we strive toward our vision—Structured Literacy in Every Classroom Across Arizona—ensuring every student has access to instruction grounded in the Science of Reading.
Open Positions
- Available Seats: 5–7 Board Member positions
- Term: 3 years (January 1, 2026 – December 31, 2028)
- Commitment: Volunteer, approximately 5–10 hours per month
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in leadership, nonprofit governance, fundraising, or community advocacy
- Knowledge and passion for education, dyslexia, and evidence-based literacy instruction
- Must be an Arizona-based IDA member in good standing

Purpose and Responsibilities
The Board serves as a trusted steward for IDA Arizona’s members and stakeholders, ensuring our work remains mission-driven and impactful—today and into the future.
As a working board, Directors actively participate in:
- Fundraising and community outreach
- Program implementation and advocacy initiatives
- Organizational governance and strategic planning
- Serving on at least one committee and attending regular meetings

How to Apply
If you or someone you know is ready to contribute time, talent, and energy to IDA Arizona, please submit a nomination by November 5, 2025.
What Happens Next
After nominations close, all eligible applications will be reviewed to confirm membership and completeness. The slate of qualified candidates will then be presented to the Board of Directors for approval in accordance with IDA Arizona’s Bylaws.
Once approved, an electronic ballot will be distributed to all IDA Arizona members for voting. Election results will be verified and announced during the Annual Members Meeting, and newly elected board members will begin their three-year term on January 1, 2026.
