Join us for a one-hour webinar with the mother-daughter duo Nanci and Susie Shepardson as they explore the profound effects of trauma on memory and learning, particularly for dyslexic learners.
Many people with dyslexia have a hard story to hear. Some were identified late in life and in learning environments, they were labeled as disruptive, lazy, unmotivated, or told they just needed to try harder. The psychological implications of negative learning environments are well documented, and the impact of being misidentified affects an individual’s ability and motivation to learn. This session will delve into research on the emotional repercussions of being undiagnosed. Personal stories of adults with dyslexia will be shared. Finally, learn how to help these individuals by exploring best practices for instruction as well as technology to support their access to age-appropriate content.
